Foreign Minister, Dr. Ibrahim Al Jaafari, received on May 17, 2015 at the Ministry HQ the British Ambassador to Iraq, Frank Baker. During the meeting, bilateral relations and means for promoting them were discussed as well as the security and political status in Iraq and the war against the terrorist Islamic State (IS) organization. |
Minister Jaafari stressed Iraq's keenness on supporting and enhancing relations with Britain to benefit from their expertise and increase the size of investment in service of the two friendly countries, referring that the danger of IS pushed the security strategy and military support to the highest priorities in building cooperation relations between Iraq and different countries of the world.
The Minister explained that the terrorists of IS violated all cities, states, and continents of the world, a thing that requires concerting every international effort to face up to that challenge which threatens all humanity.
For his part, the British Ambassador confirmed his government's efforts in supporting Iraq in its war against IS, stressing that the coming time shall witness a noticeable development in the relations with Iraq through the efforts made by the British Embassy in different Iraqi provinces to support investment and the exchange of expertise in different fields.
