Internet In Iraq

Picture
As with any country that goes through a dramatic period of conflict and change such as that started in Iraq in 2003 it takes time to repair the damage caused to the communication infrastructure. Iraq’s communications were severely damaged by the conflict but the new Iraqi government has started to repair and rebuild the telecommunication infrastructure and is slowly but surely connecting Iraq to the rest of the world.

The satellite service continue to provide an invaluable communications link with the rest of the world for people and businesses that operate and are located in this middle eastern country. In fact, it is a very practical and reliable service in Iraq which offers a good value and high quality communications solutions.

Fibre optic is another fast and reliable way to receive Internet services in Iraq. This became available for the first time in Iraq in 2010, internet connectivity via terrestrial fibre network is currently provided for many regions. However as the expansion of the fibre network is limited, for almost all locations, a microwave link is used for the last mile of connection.

Under the previous government, access to the Iraq Internet was restricted and only a small percentage of the population were thought to be online. Figures from 2002 have shown that it was estimated that only 25,000 people were able to access the Internet. Since the demise of Saddam Hussein that figure has risen dramatically and it is now estimated that there over five million users connected to satellite Internet in Iraq. There is still a great opportunity for growth in Iraq and we can provide the Internet service solution you require to supply your services to and from this country as it rises from the ashes.

We provide high performance, secure and reliable network infrastructure for Internet and communication services to multinational organisations across the southern region of Iraq.
